writing paragraph

SUBJECT         : WRITING 3

1)       NARRATIVE

A.       DEFINITION OF NARRATIVE
Narrative is a text focusing some specific participants that have several structural features making different from other genres or the story that happen in the past time.
B.      GENERIC STRUCTURE OF NARRATIVE
A narrative text consists of the following structures :
1.         Orientation
Introducing the participants and informing the time and the place. It also introduce some characters involved in this genre.
2.       Complication
Describing the rising crises which the participants have to do with or among participants relationship in a process of social interaction.
3.       Resolution
Showing the way of participant to solve the crises, better or worse. The and can be open ended or close ended. Open ended is a conclusion that depends on the perception of the readers. Whereas, close ended is an end of a story in which the conclusion is clearly stated.
4.       Coda which summarizes the point of the story and moral message we may get.
C.      LANGUAGE FORMS OF NARRATIVE
1.         Using processes verbs        : Tell, says, narrates.
2.       Using temporal conjunction : Chronological Order.
3.       Using Simple Past Tense      : Present tense, future tense,present perfect continuous     and past continuous.


 EXAMPLE FOR NARRATIVE

‘’My First Time In The Emergency Room’’

Orientation
I went to the Emergency Room for the first time when I was thirteen years old.
Complication
One day, when I was playing skateboard in front of my grandmother's house and I tried to do a trick. I almost pulled it of, but I messed it up in the end and headed to the ground with my hands down. My right wrist was twisted the wrong way in the air when I landed hard on the ground, it just broke it. At first it did not hurt at all, but when I looked down at my warped and twisted wrist , all of a sudden excruciating pain rushed through my wrist and I Rolling around on the ground yelling and cussing in pain, my parents saw what happened and came running to my aid. My father started moving it around saying, "it's not broken," as my mother was saying over and over again we need to go to the emergency room to get the real diiagnosis.
Resolution
After about fifteen minutes of yelling and screaming,  finally, I got up and held my wrist as I walked to the car. The whole way to be lost the pain got worse and worse. After that I found  the increase in pain was due to massive swelling against the broken bone. I had to sit in the waiting room for almost and hour which seemed look forever. After waiting impatiently, after that, I got into the doctor's office and I got something and I  found that my wrist was true broken.
Coda
be carefull to do something, because we do not know that the something will be happen for ourself.



2)     DESCRIPTIVE

A.       DEFINITION OF DESCRIPTIVE
Descriptive is a text with says what a person or thing is like. It is purpose to describe and several a particular person, place or thing.
B.      GENERIC STRUCTURE OF DESCRIPTIVE
Descriptive has structure as below :
1.         Identification.
2.       Description.
3.       Conclusion (optional).
C.      LANGUAGE FEATURE OF DESCRIPTIVE
1.         Focus on specific participants.
2.       Using attributive and identifying process.
3.       Using adjective and classifiers in nominal group.
4.      Using simple present tense.


EXAMPLE FOR DESCRIPTIVE

‘’What Is Dragonfly’’

Identification
Dragonflies are beautiful and unique, flying insects with small scaly wings,and have much colors.
Description
Like all insects, they are six legs, 3 body parts, a pair of antenneae, and a compound eyes. The three body parts are head, the chest, and the abdomen [the tail end]. Dragonflies are very good fliers. They have two pairs of small wings covered with the colorfull wings. Dragonflies have much color of wings, like rainbow wings, green wings, and white wings. Dragonflies is resemble like a butterflies, they have two pairs large and small wings and the color of pair of wings are so much.
Conclution
The speed varies among dragonflies species. The fastest dragonflies can fly at about 50 kilometers per hour or faster. Slow flying dragonflies fly about 7 kph.






3)     EXPOSITORY

A.       DEFINITION EXPOSITORY
A Paragraph that explains or analyzes a topic is an expository paragraph. It includes : information, explanation, fact, and illustrations.
B.      GENERIC STRUCTURE
1.         Topic sentence.
2.       Supporting sentence : example, detail, charts
3.       Concluding sentence.
C.      LANGUAGE FEATURE
Language froms of Expository :
1.       Using process verbs : begin, start, continue, become, remain, develop, and finish,
2.      Using indefinite transitions.
3.     Using question word mark, such as how and and.
4.      Using charts, graphics, and other visual aids.
5.     Using present tenses either verbal or nominal.

 EXAMPLE FOR EXPOSITORY

             ‘’Hobbies Are Effectively Helpful To Reduce Our Stress’’

Topic Sentence
 Stress is thing that is usually perceived human. Because everyone have problem, burdens, and the other. Hobby is an effective way to reduce stress.
Supporting Sentence
Everyone must have favorite activities or hobby. Like singing, swimming, painting and the other. And if someone can do her hobby, certain he fell joy, and happy. Hobby can help to divert the chaotic life and remove the problems. Although just a moment. Choose an appropriate hobby is the key affective and easy. We must choose hobbies that good and benefit. Because with an appropriate hobby we can rileks to confront daily activities. And usually an axtivities that we love is an aptitude that we have. Whit that, if we can do our hobbies, so we can develop our aptitudes. And we get some benefit with our hobbies. For example, they are have sport hobby will get strong and healthy body.
Concluding Sentence
So hobby is an important for our life, beside an effective helpful to reduce stress but also give a positive and benefit.
